Job Description

DESCRIPTION
Under the supervision of a Licensed Surveyor or Crew Chief, the Instrument Operator will clean, calibrate, and operate all survey equipment. The Instrument Operator will support office and field staff by managing equipment, and supplies for the crew truck, reporting supply levels to the Chief of Parties/Crew Manager. The Instrument Operator will be a champion and leader of our company core values, while maintaining internal and external client satisfaction. The ideal candidate for this position is someone that is excited to work in a team environment, loves the outdoors, and is eager to learn and grow his or her career.
ACTIVITIES + RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist a surveying or construction crew in assessing the topography and geography of a building site or parcel of land. Calibrate and operate a variety of specialized surveying equipment, such as Robotic Total Stations, GPS, and other miscellaneous survey tools. Collect data and report back to builders, contractors, or survey leaders. Ability to maintain a positive attitude and professional demeanor with all staff and clients.
QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or GED Working knowledge of computers Valid Driver's License
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to regularly work outside in all weather conditions including extreme heat and cold, wet, and muddy conditions, and high/precarious places. Ability to travel frequently and work overtime including weekends, as needed. Ability to lift equipment or objects weighing 50 to 75 pounds.
