COMPANY OVERVIEW
At the Sign Center, we help businesses bring their ideas and brands to life through print, signs, graphics, and visual communications. We're looking for a Large Format Signs CNC Router & Finishing Specialist to join our Norwood production team. This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys working with equipment, materials, and tools and takes pride in turning printed graphics and rigid substrates into high-quality finished products. A major focus of this role is CNC routing and large-format finishing , so previous CNC experience is required. Experience with Zund, Colex, Multicam, Kongsberg or similar equipment and Sharpcut software or SAi Flexi software (or similar) is especially valuable, although we're interested in candidates who have worked with other CNC routing systems as well. If you're mechanically inclined, enjoy solving production challenges, and like seeing the finished results of your work, this could be a great fit.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Set up and operate CNC routing equipment to cut and finish a variety of rigid substrates Prepare production files and equipment for routing, cutting, and finishing Work with CNC and graphics software, including Sharpcut and Flexi Set up jobs accurately based on material, thickness, cutting requirements, and job specifications Accurately identify different substrates, materials, and thicknesses Perform large-format finishing on a variety of printed and unprinted materials Use hand tools, power tools, hardware, adhesives, and other finishing materials Inspect finished work for accuracy, quality, and proper finishing Troubleshoot basic equipment, file, material, and finishing issues Perform routine equipment checks Maintain equipment and keep work areas clean, organized, and safe Follow established company safety procedures Safely handle large and sometimes awkward sheets and substrates Work closely with other production team members to keep projects moving and deadlines on track Assist in other areas of large-format production and finishing as workload and business needs require
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
We're looking for someone who combines CNC experience, mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality . Previous hands-on CNC routing experience required Experience setting up and operating CNC routing or cutting equipment Experience with CNC equipment and graphics/CNC software preferred Experience with Adobe Creative Suite preferred Understanding of file setup, toolpaths, cutting parameters, and production specifications Ability to accurately identify common rigid substrates and material thicknesses Ability to accurately read measurements and follow job specifications Basic mechanical knowledge and comfort using hand and power tools Familiarity with hardware, adhesives, and finishing techniques Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Good safety awareness and respect for proper equipment operation Ability to regularly lift and carry sheets and materials weighing up to 50 pounds individually , with team assistance for heavier or oversized materials Ability to stand, bend, reach, lift, and remain active throughout the workday Dependability and the ability to work independently while contributing as part of a team Previous experience in large-format graphics, sign production, CNC routing, digital printing, laminating, commercial printing, or related manufacturing is strongly preferred.
