GENERAL DESCRIPTION
: Setup and operate an Upsetter and associated equipment to gather, form, pierce, trim and punch pre-heated solid bars of various sizes and lengths. Rotate into the Forge/Die Crib area and perform related duties: assemble dies in die blocks, locate punches in punch nose holders and make necessary adjustments to make complete die setup. Make alterations on dies when necessary by grooming, contouring, finishing and grinding.QUALIFICATIONS
: Full time regular employee- Preferred High school diploma or equivalent Knowledge of departmental processes and products
- preferred Knowledge, skills and capabilities to run departmental machines Working knowledge of computer system Evidence of solid work history Evidence of solid attendance Evidence of attention to Detail & Quality Minimum 2-year commitment Must successfully satisfy the established job qualifying criteria Must successfully complete a "hands-on" assessment
EXPERIENCE, SKILL, JOB KNOWLEDGE
: Operator will be required to setup machine by using prints, routers and standard work instructions. While operating machine, use of standard gaging devices, such as "seat to back", templates, vernier, scale and other various gages are required. Operator is also required to polish dies periodically. Perform necessary duties in the forge/die crib relative to: maintain records; provide setups; keep inventory; request replacements; perform inspection; dismantle, clean and store returned dies; groom and finish; ensure specification of tools; and assist in setup of machines and equipmentJOB ATTENTIVENESS
: Employee is responsible for producing quality parts and therefore must be familiar with and adhere to the total operator control philosophy. Immediate recognition and containment of defective materials is required. Close attentiveness is required to properly position pieces in die cavities to prevent injury, product scrap or tool breakage.HEALTH, SAFETY & ENVIRONMENTAL
: Must adhere to all established health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to avoid exposure to cuts, bruises or minor burns. Employee required to report any work related incidents immediately. Each employee has the responsibility to minimize any negative impacts on the environment. In addition, employee is responsible for the housekeeping, orderliness and basic organization of the immediate work area.WORKING ENVIRONMENT
: Where possible, needs to minimize exposure to excessive heat, smoke, oil, coolant splash and above normal levels of noise. Operator may be exposed to fumes, odors and above normal levels of heat and vibration.Job Type:
