Excited to try something new? We are looking for entry level people to join our fabrication team. As a Level 1 Application Technician at Bemidji Steel Co., you begin your trade at a single assigned work center alongside an experienced technician. You will learn our safety systems, material handling, machine startup and shutdown, and the basics of reading a print and running a program.
This is a learning position:
you do not run production unattended until you have been certified on a work center. What you are building here is the foundation everything above it rests on — safe habits, accurate material handling, and clean job records. Bemidji Steel is growing quickly, and a technician who takes this level seriously moves through it fast. Roles & Duties Assist and work under a Level 3 Application technician at the assigned work center. Load and unload material under direct supervision. Follow machine startup, shutdown, and daily check sequences exactly as written. Identify and tag material; handle and return remnants per standard. Clock jobs accurately in the ERP and keep production records current. Read basic prints — views, dimensions, tolerances, and callouts. Keep the work center clean and to 5S standard. Adhere to all safety protocols and contribute to a safe working environment. Qualificaitons & Requirements No prior fabrication experience required. Mechanical aptitude, reliability, and a willingness to be coached High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for a full shift. BSC safety orientation and lockout/tagout before operating any equipment. Crane and forklift certification within 90 days of hire.
Pay:
$19.00 - $25.52 per hour
