Job Description
About the Role We are looking for a reliable and safety-focused Saw/Cutoff Operator to join our foundry team. In this role, you will operate cutoff saws and related equipment to remove gates, risers, and excess material from aluminum castings while ensuring parts meet quality and dimensional requirements. If you have experience operating industrial equipment, enjoy hands-on work, and take pride in producing quality parts, this could be the perfect opportunity for you. Key Responsibilities Set up and safely operate band saws and related equipment to remove gates, risers, and excess material from aluminum castings Read and follow work instructions, routers, and production schedules Inspect castings before and after cutting to ensure quality standards are met Use measuring tools and gauges to verify dimensions and specifications Identify casting defects or nonconforming parts and notify the appropriate personnel Perform routine blade changes and equipment adjustments, as needed Safely move castings using material handling equipment when required Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following all company safety policies Participate in continuous improvement efforts to increase efficiency and reduce waste What We're Looking For High School Diploma or GED required 1+ year of manufacturing or foundry experience preferred Experience operating industrial saws or similar production equipment is a plus Basic math, reading, and measurement skills Ability to read and follow work instructions and production documents Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety Ability to work independently while maintaining production goals Physically able to lift up to 60 lbs, wear required PPE, and work in a foundry environment with heat, dust, and noise Work Environment & Physical Demands Exposure to heat, dust, noise, vibration, and moving machinery Frequent standing, bending, lifting, reaching, and repetitive motion Regular handling of aluminum castings and use of industrial cutting equipment Use of PPE including gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, and metatarsal boots
