Overview The Deburring Technician will be responsible for removing sharp edges, burrs, and surface imperfections from metal parts and weldments to specified tolerances, utilizing various deburring techniques, including powered or hand tool deburring, vibratory tumbling and grit blasting. Technicians will ensure all components meet tolerances, product specifications, and quality standards after deburring operations are completed. The Deburring Technician works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function and demonstrates proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job. Responsibilities Remove burrs and sharp edges from metal parts and assemblies using various hand tools, power tools, and machinery to specified tolerances Operate and maintain grinders, sanders, buffers, vibratory tumbling machines, and grit blasting equipment Clean parts using appropriate methods to remove contaminants and apply corrosion inhibitors where specified Buff and polish parts to achieve desired surface finish and appearance Read, understand and interpret engineering drawings and specifications to guide activities and ensure quality Follow verbal, written, and electronic work instruction to complete tasks Keep daily production records and record pertinent manufacturing data where required Learn, practice and follow all safety standards and policies and ensure a safe operating environment, including use of appropriate protective equipment and identification of potential safety concerns Maintains a clean and organized work environment Qualifications High School Diploma or GED Typically requires 0-1 years of related experience Mechanical aptitude: Ability to use hand tools and shop equipment to perform assembly, installation, fabrication and rework tasks on metal aircraft components
