This is an opportunity to become an important part of a growing production operation. We're looking for someone who knows die cutting—not someone we're going to teach from the ground up. The right person will have the opportunity to grow into a Lead Die Cutter position, taking greater responsibility for job setup, production scheduling, troubleshooting, quality control, and helping establish efficient die-cutting processes. Lead Die Cutter compensation will be higher than the starting range. - Responsibilities Set up and operate multiple die-cutting machines for folding carton production. Perform cutting and creasing matrix setup and complete make-ready for jobs. Pull and verify the correct dies and printing plates for each job. Set up and perform stripping operations. Run jobs efficiently while maintaining consistent quality and production standards. Use a paper cutter to accurately cut sheets to the required size for die-cutting. Add and verify the correct ink when running printed die-cutting jobs. Set up and run print-cut jobs , achieving accurate print-to-die registration. Make adjustments to ensure proper cutting, creasing, stripping, registration, and print quality. Inspect product throughout production and correct quality issues as they arise. Read and follow job tickets, specifications, and production instructions. Troubleshoot equipment and setup issues. Keep equipment and the work area clean and organized. Follow all required safety procedures. As skills and responsibilities grow, assist with training and supporting other production employees. - Equipment You'll Work With Our die-cutting operation includes a variety of equipment, including: Heidelberg Cylinder Press Heidelberg Windmill Brausse Clamshell Die Cutter Multiple other die-cutting machines Paper cutters - Required Experience Previous professional experience operating die-cutting equipment in folding carton production is required. The ideal candidate will have experience with: Folding carton die cutting Die setup and make-ready Cutting and creasing matrix Stripping Printing plate setup Print-cut registration Paper cutting and sheet preparation Troubleshooting die-cutting jobs Heidelberg and/or Brausse equipment You should be comfortable working independently, reading job specifications, making adjustments, and taking responsibility for the quality of your work. - Who We're Looking For We're looking for a skilled craftsman and problem solver who understands that successful die cutting is about more than simply running a machine. Getting the make-ready right, achieving clean cuts and creases, maintaining registration, minimizing waste, and producing a consistent finished product all require experience and attention to detail.
