Job Description

Job Summary The Slitting Line Assistant is responsible for supporting the Operator to ensure optimal productivity, quality, and yield on the slitting line. This role includes substituting for the Operator when needed, such as during training periods, absenteeism, or vacations.
Job Responsibilities Material Handling:
Collect and move material to and from the machine efficiently
Instruction Adherence:
Follow production instructions provided by the paired
Operator System Logging:
Log into Steel II and accurately enter downtime codes as required
Setup Verification:
Assist in verifying machine setups throughout the production process
Quality Checks:
Periodically measure dimensions with a measuring tape to ensure accuracy
Skill Development:
Engage in continuous training to become a proficient Operator, adhering to established procedures.
Additional Duties:
Perform other tasks as assigned by management
Qualifications Instruction Following:
Ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively
Comprehension:
Ability to read and understand written instructions
Math Skills:
Basic mathematical skills for measurement and calculations
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience:
1-2 years of experience in a production process, preferably in the metals industry
Measuring Devices:
Knowledge of reading measuring devices
Computer Skills:
Basic computer knowledge for system interactions and data entry
Physical Examination:
Ability to pass a physical examination for vision, hearing, and mobility

Demonstrated reliable work history Attention to

Must be detail-oriented with a strong focus on precision and quality in all tasks
