Job Description
Overview Carbon Felt Inc. is seeking a Billet Trimming & Production Operator to operate various saws and machines to trim carbon billets and packaging materials, as well as support the loading and unloading of industrial ovens and furnaces. This is a hands-on manufacturing position requiring forklift experience, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety and quality. Responsibilities Operate various saws to cut and trim billets according to specifications Trim and prepare packaging materials, including foam, cardboard, and other materials, to required sizes. Load and unload billets from industrial ovens and furnaces according to established procedures. Operate a forklift to safely move billets, materials, furnace/oven fixtures, and finished products. Set up and adjust saws, fixtures, and workholding equipment as needed. Measure billets and materials before and after trimming to ensure they meet required dimensions. Inspect billets and materials for defects and report quality issues. Properly identify and organize billets and packaging materials Perform routine cleaning, organizing and basic maintenance of saws and working areas Follow all safety procedures, work instructions, and PPE requirements. Help other teams if needed Qualifications Previous forklift operating experience is required. Manufacturing, machine operation, or production experience preferred. Experience operating band saws, circular saws, table saws etc. Experience working with industrial ovens or furnaces is preferred. Ability to use measuring tools such as tape measures. Ability to read and follow work instructions. Good attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods, bend, reach, lift, and handle billets and materials. Must be able to safely operate a forklift and work around industrial machinery, ovens, and furnaces while wearing required PPE.
