- Level 2 to support composite manufacturing and fabrication operations.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working with composite materials and be comfortable performing layup, bonding, vacuum bagging, trimming, finishing, inspection, and related production processes. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Fabricate composite components using carbon fiber, fiberglass, Kevlar, prepreg, and other composite materials. Perform composite layup, lamination, bonding, and vacuum bagging according to work instructions and specifications. Prepare molds, tooling, fixtures, and work surfaces for production. Cut and accurately position composite materials according to templates, ply schedules, and engineering requirements. Perform debulking, curing, trimming, sanding, drilling, and finishing of composite parts. Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, production travelers, and work instructions. Operate composite-processing equipment, including ovens, autoclaves, presses, and related equipment as required. Use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment. Perform visual and dimensional inspections to ensure parts meet quality specifications. Identify defects such as delamination, voids, wrinkles, fiber misalignment, and surface imperfections. Complete production documentation, inspection records, and material traceability paperwork. Perform rework and repairs in accordance with approved procedures. Assist with troubleshooting fabrication and production issues. Maintain molds, tooling, equipment, and fixtures in production-ready condition. Properly handle and store composite materials, resins, adhesives, and other production chemicals. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Follow all company safety procedures, PPE requirements, quality standards, and production guidelines. Work independently while collaborating with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams. Qualifications Previous experience in composite manufacturing, fabrication, aerospace, marine, automotive, or a related industry preferred. Experience with composite layup, vacuum bagging, bonding, trimming, and finishing. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to identify and communicate quality or production issues. Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions and maintain accurate production records. Bilingual a plus Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach throughout the workday. Ability to use hand and power tools for extended periods. Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver materials and components as required. Ability to wear required PPE and work safely around manufacturing materials and chemicals.
