JOB DESCRIPTION POSITION
Operator/Set-up Thickness Grind
LEVEL OF AUTHORITY

THIS POSITION REPORTS TO
Grind Blades Supervisor
JOB TITLES REPORTING TO THIS POSITION
None ROLE:
To finish grind drill insert thickness.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Set-up and run production (thickness grinding of high-speed steel and carbide blades) Inspect print dimensions using digital indicator stand Inspect parts for taper using digital indicator stand Change grinding wheels and truing wheels as required Wash parts Communicate application/operation problems to department leaders, and assist in testing/problem solving Inspect ground surfaces for size and flatness specifications Must be able to access all on-line work instructions and Charts. Observe and report all areas that need addressed. Maintain a high quality level as well as a high rate of efficiency. Work in a safe manner at all times. Correct reporting of job transactions. Fill out NCR for blades that do not meet our quality standards Follow inspection plan Maintain low absenteeism/tardiness as determined by management. Willingness to follow instructions and procedures in a cooperative manner. Proper use and care of micrometers and calipers. Read and understand blueprints. Plan flow of product through the cell to keep machines running and to maintain hitting the due dates
QUALIFICATIONS
Education High School Graduate or GED equivalent Experience Working knowledge of finish grinding operations / preferred Experience with micrometers, calipers, and dial indicator gauges / preferred Must have completed 90-day probation. / preferred Skills Good math skills, addition, subtraction, multiplication Detail oriented, good planning and organizational skills. Good manual dexterity Minimum Requirements Able to lift 32 Lbs. Able to be on feet for 12 hours with continuous movement
