Description Summary:

An OD B sets up and operates machining equipment for the production of machined carbide and ceramic cutting tips to precision tolerances on CNC end form, CNC OD, NC land and other support grinders. Pre-set and maintain tooling and equipment. The company (Greenleaf Corporation) provides on the job training.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Read and interpret router, blueprints, planning sheets, sketches, and related technical data to determine tooling requirements, set-up procedures, control settings and machining methods and sequences. May make adjustments to program. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Load control media in machine controller or enter commands to retrieve preprogrammed instructions from database. Calulate and set machine controls. Mount, align and secure tooling, attachments and work piece. Select and install grinding wheels. Verify operation of safety devices. Start up machine and monitor display and machine operation. Enter commands or manually adjust machine controls to maintain tolerances. Use precision measuring devices to verify dimensions of finished work piece. Comply with safety, qualify and housekeeping procedures. All other duties as assigned.

 40 - M-F; Day, Evening, Night shifts
