Job Description:

As an Instrumentation Fitter, you will be responsible for interpreting and executing plans and schematics related to instrumentation systems. You will adjust, repair, and fabricate components and parts essential for launch environments. Your role will be vital in ensuring the functionality and reliability of instrumentation within the launch site.

Responsibilities:

Read and interpret planning documents, schematics, datasheets/manuals, drawings, blueprints, and engineering sketches. Utilize P&ID (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams) to guide tasks. Adjust, repair, or replace faulty components of ground hardware, test, and integration equipment. Fabricate and install parts and systems using hand tools, power tools, and test instruments. Work with various sizes of pipes and valves. Connect and verify pressure transducers, thermocouples, and other sensors. Install connectors, connector pins, terminals, and lugs. Collaborate with launch engineers to troubleshoot failures and issues derived from launch activities. Perform maintenance tasks as required for vehicle integration, pad maintenance, site preventative maintenance, and general facilities. Why Work Here? Work Environment This position is based in an indoor, climate-controlled, state-of-the-art facility designed to support advanced launch and test operations. Work is hands-on and may involve frequent use of hand tools, power tools, test instruments, and fabrication equipment. You will work around piping systems, valves, sensors, control panels, hydraulic assemblies, and data acquisition hardware. Multiple fixed shift options are available, including Sunday-Thursday 6:30 a.m.-6:00 p.m., Tuesday-Saturday 6:30 a.m.-6:00 p.m., Sunday-Thursday 6:30 p.m.-6:00 a.m., and Tuesday-Saturday 6:30 p.m.-6:00 a.m., providing consistent scheduling within a high-performance technical environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Baton Rouge, LA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $38.00/hr.
