DESCRIPTION

Burn plates and parts in a safe and efficient manner, utilizing both Messer burn table equipment and process work instructions.

WORK CONDITIONS

• Environment is that of a heavy industrial worksite
• Outdoor elements are a factor
• Exposure to air particles, such as dust, chemical (paint, oil, gas, diesel fumes) and weld smoke
• Exposure to loud, penetrating noises in some work areas
• Proper personal protective equipment is required at all times, such as, steel toed boots, ear plugs/earmuffs, safety glasses, pants, hard hats and possible respirator use.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to efficiently and independently use the plasma burn table, O2/Fuel hand torch, hand grinder, hand scraper, sledgehammer, tape measure and caliper to perform tasks associated with position.
• Able to locate and reference all work instructions pertaining to current job or project. Understanding of department KPIs, metrics and measurable.
• Sense of urgency and accountability
• Ability to read, comprehend and write English at an advanced level
• Advanced blueprint reading and problem-solving skills required
• Intermediate math skills (fraction/ decimal calculations)
• Previous work experience in a heavy industrial or construction environment is preferred; however, it is not a requirement
• Knowledge of various types of construction and or heavy equipment operation preferred.
• Must be able to safely operate machinery and run overhead crane
• Must be able to recommend improvements in productivity and quality
• Must be able to change all parts in torch head.
• Must be able to make minor adjustments to programs
• Know weight of cut part and determine weight of raw material components in order to transition material in a safe manner. Basic computer knowledge of Window type operating system
• Perform daily operational checks and perform cleanup at beginning and end of shifts
• Ability to meet production schedule.
• Download programs via disc, flash drive or direct connect.
• Perform cuts and required nesting as defined by production.
• Clean and de-burr plate as needed.

EDUCATION REQUIRMENTS

• High school diploma or GED equivalent Work hours vary between 8/10/12 hours shifts depending on work load. Standing
