Overview Our customer is seeking a Survey Instrument Operator / Rodman to assist a Survey Crew Leader with field activities related to conducting surveys. This is an entry-level opportunity requiring some professional work experience. The ideal candidate is technically savvy, comfortable working in the field during both hot and cold weather conditions, and willing to learn all aspects of surveying. Key Responsibilities Accurately operate and adjust survey measuring instruments, including levels, transits, theodolites, electronic measuring devices, and total stations with electronic data collection capabilities. Perform data collection. Maintain vehicles and field equipment. Take accurate and clear field notes and perform note reduction. Apply principles of staking and marking. All other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Valid driver's license. Some professional work experience. Comfortable working in field environments during both hot and cold weather conditions. Technically savvy and able to learn new equipment, processes, and surveying practices. Ability to operate and train others in the use of survey equipment, including conventional and electronic instruments and related computer hardware and software. Good interpersonal skills. Effective written and oral communication skills. Willingness to learn all aspects of surveying. Eligibility to work for any U.S. employer without sponsorship now or in the future. Preferred Qualifications Experience using GPS equipment. Knowledge of the Trimble survey platform. Knowledge of Carlson. Bilingual English/Spanish experience is a plus. Work Environment This position involves field work and requires comfort working outdoors during both cold and hot summer conditions.
