Job Description
Job Overview Cahaba Restoration LLC is seeking a reliable, hands-on Mitigation Technician to respond to water, fire, mold, and storm damage emergencies. You'll be part of a team that helps homeowners and businesses recover from disaster by stabilizing properties, removing damaged materials, and setting up drying equipment. This is a physically active, fast-paced role ideal for someone who works well under pressure and takes pride in helping people during stressful situations. Responsibilities Respond to emergency water, fire, smoke, mold, and storm damage calls, including after-hours and on-call shifts Perform water extraction using pumps, vacuums, and extraction equipment Set up and monitor drying equipment (air movers, dehumidifiers, air scrubbers) Remove and dispose of non-salvageable materials (drywall, flooring, insulation) Perform demolition as needed for mitigation and repair work Clean, sanitize, and deodorize affected areas Take moisture readings and document drying progress daily Set up containment barriers for mold remediation or asbestos-adjacent work Operate and maintain trucks, trailers, and mitigation equipment Take before/after photos and complete accurate job documentation for insurance claims Communicate professionally and empathetically with customers on-site Follow all safety protocols, including PPE use and biohazard handling procedures Maintain a clean, organized, and stocked service vehicle Requirements High school diploma or GED Valid driver's license Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in physically demanding conditions (crawlspaces, attics, confined spaces) Comfortable working at heights and in various weather conditions Willingness to work on-call rotations, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed Strong customer service and communication skills Ability to pass a background check Preferred Qualifications 1+ years of experience in restoration, construction, or a related trade Experience with mitigation equipment (extractors, air movers, moisture meters)
Compensation & Benefits Pay:
