Hazmat Technician, $60,000
  • $70,000 yearly Full-Time, Monday

  • Women in Trucking R+L Carriers has an immediate opportunity for Hazmat Technicians at our Lakeland, FL Service Center.
Reporting to the Hazardous Materials Compliance Manager, the Hazmat Technician is responsible for the performance of tasks associated with emergency response, hazardous and non-hazardous materials clean-up, site-remediation, equipment decontamination, handling of hazardous materials, and other duties as required.
Candidate Requirements:
24 Hour
OSHA HAZWOPER
certification required (40 Hour preferred) Based on OSHA and industry health standards, wear proper personal protective equipment when required Work effectively and communicate with team members and other departments Inform management team of issues that arise on jobs in a timely manner Update job notes daily Physically fit; able to lift 75 lbs. Able to thrive in a high pressure and fast paced team supported environment Lead safety in all aspects of emergency response, including following R+L procedures, properly containerizing waste/re-use products, completing safety documentation, and upholding R+L's high level of safety Experience operating tools applicable to emergency response activities Set up and participate in live training events to ensure competency of personnel Audit incoming/outgoing hazardous materials shipments for compliance Ability and willingness to coach co-workers on unsafe behaviors observed Willing to participate in specialized scheduled projects as required Competent in Microsoft Office applications such as, but not limited to; Excel, Word, and Outlook Exceptional interpersonal skills, customer service and problem-solving skills Proven ability to work in a confidential capacity Ability to handle multiple tasks, while being detail oriented.
