Job Description
CDL Class A Hazmat Driver
- HOME DAILY-Train Fueling (Laborer)
- $80,605 + Annually
Responsibilities /
Job Duties:
Velocity Rail Solutions drivers are responsible for loading, transporting, and transferring red-dyed diesel into trains and/or storage tanks on an "on-call" basis for the Railroad. On-the-job training will be provided for qualified individuals. The Railroad maintains dedicated trucks and drivers on duty 24/7/365, including nights, weekends, and holidays, ensuring consistent paychecks. You will be paid for a full 12 hours each shift, including breaks, lunches, and any wait time for dispatches. You will be paid for all "on-duty" hours, regardless of the specific task you are dispatched for.
Requirements/Qualifications:
Licenses and Endorsements:
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with hazmat and tanker endorsements. Valid TWIC card.
Location:
- Must reside in or around Glen Burnie/Curtis Bay area.
Background and Compliance:
- Must be able to clear all background checks required by the company, customer, and government
- Must not be prohibited from performing safety-sensitive functions as per the FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse
- Must have completed all required steps as mandated by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) in the Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse
- Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) with no major violations
- Must pass a road test in a tractor trailer.
- Responsible for maintaining all required licenses and certifications
- Possess a valid DOT medical card
- Comply with DOT regulations, including annual MVR checks and certification of violations
Skills and Abilities:
- Must be able to read, write, and understand English
- Moderate computer skills required
- Must be reliable and dependable
- Must know when to ask for help
- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
Physical Requirements:
- Able to consistently bend, stoop, kneel, and climb on and off elevated surfaces
- May have to walk long distances on paved, unmaintained, or uneven surfaces
- Able to climb in and out of a truck cab multiple times per shift and climb a ladder or steps 10 or more times per day
- Ability to drive and work outside in adverse weather conditions
- Willing to work with non-hazardous liquid and dry bulk materials
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
