Job Description
About the Role Are you looking for a stable, hands-on role in industrial manufacturing and environmental sustainability? We are seeking a reliable Materials Processor I to join our Sustainability Solutions team. In this role, you will play a key part in the safe, compliant, and efficient handling of recyclable materials and non-hazardous RCRA byproducts. You will operate heavy machinery, manage material sorting, and help maintain strict safety and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities Material Processing:
Sort, inspect, and process incoming materials and warehoused byproducts following standard operating procedures and environmental guidelines.Equipment Operation:
Safely operate, monitor, and perform basic routine maintenance on industrial machinery, including forklifts, loaders, shakers, conveyors, grinders, shredders, and mixers.Safety & Compliance:
Enforce strict safety protocols, environmental regulations, and mandatory Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements (including full-face respirator protocols where required).Material Handling & Staging:
Assist with the safe receipt, staging, and internal transport of regulated and non-regulated materials.Facility Maintenance:
Inspect equipment for operational hazards or malfunctions before use; keep work areas clean, organized, and safe. Perform additional operational duties as assigned by leadership.Qualifications & Requirements Education:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.Experience:
1+ years of experience in materials processing, industrial manufacturing, or solid waste handling preferred.Equipment Experience:
Proven experience operating heavy equipment and powered industrial trucks (e.g., forklifts, front-end loaders).Reliability:
Ability to reliably commute to the work location.Physical Requirements & Working Conditions Physical Stamina:
Ability to walk, stand, sit, stoop, or kneel for extended periods, and lift 35+ lbs unassisted on a regular basis.PPE Capability:
Comfort and ability to tolerate wearing full-body PPE and a full-face respirator during shift assignments.Environment:
Ability to work safely in varied environmental conditions, including exposure to extreme temperatures, elevated noise levels, and strong odors typical of material handling.Core Competencies & Skills Safety First:
