Full Job Description Position Overview:
As a Demolition Technician, you will be responsible for assisting with various tasks related to demolition projects. This role requires a combination of physical labor, attention to detail, and adherence to safety protocols. You will work closely with experienced demolition professionals to learn the necessary skills and techniques for safely and efficiently demolishing structures.Key Responsibilities:
Assist inDemolition Activities:
Work alongside experienced demolition team members to perform tasks such as site preparation, debris removal, and dismantling structures using hand tools, power tools, and heavy machinery.Follow Safety Procedures:
Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your team members. This includes wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following established safety protocols at all times.Operate Equipment:
Under supervision, operate machinery such as jackhammers, bulldozers, excavators, and forklifts to assist with demolition tasks. Learn proper operation techniques and safety precautions for each piece of equipment.Handle Materials:
Assist with sorting, salvaging, and disposing of materials such as wood, metal, concrete, and debris in accordance with project requirements and environmental regulations.Haul Materials:
Deliver empty dumpsters to job sites, pick up full dumpsters and drive to landfills/recycling plants to unload.Maintain Tools and Equipment:
Keep tools, equipment, and work areas clean and organized. Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to senior team members or supervisors.Communicate Effectively:
Work collaboratively with team members to ensure efficient project execution. Follow instructions from supervisors and communicate any issues or concerns promptly.Learn and Develop Skills:
Take initiative to learn new skills and techniques related to demolition work. Seek guidance from experienced team members and participate in training opportunities to enhance your abilities.Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor in various weather conditions. Basic understanding of construction and demolition processes preferred. Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team. Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and challenges. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation is required.Additional Requirements:
Must pass a background check and drug screening. OSHA certification or willingness to obtain certification within a specified timeframe. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.Career Path:
Entry Level Demolition Technicians have the opportunity to gain experience and advance within the demolition industry. With additional training and experience, individuals may pursue roles such as Demolition Foreman, Equipment Operator, or Project Manager. Continuing education and certification programs may also be available to support career growth and development.Job Type:
