HazMat Laborer / Environmental Response Technician $18.00 - $23.00 per hour | Part-Time & Full-Time Opportunities First Call Environmental is growing — and we're looking for dependable people who aren't afraid to roll up their sleeves and get the job done. If you're looking for a hands-on job where no two days are exactly the same , this could be a great opportunity for you. No prior HazMat or environmental experience is required. We provide paid training and give motivated employees the opportunity to advance within the company, with potential earnings of up to $30/hour as you gain experience and take on additional responsibilities. Our technicians respond to a wide range of jobs throughout the region, from routine scheduled work and minor releases to emergency response and disaster cleanup. This is a hands-on, blue-collar position . You should be comfortable working outside, working with your hands, getting dirty, and working as part of a team.
You may assist with:
Emergency response projects throughout the region Scheduled environmental and cleanup projects Disaster cleanup operations Equipment setup and job preparation Inventory and equipment maintenance Equipment repairs Operating powered hand tools and other jobsite equipment Loading, unloading, and moving equipment and materials Supporting other team members to complete jobs safely and efficiently What We're Looking For You don't need to know everything on day one. We'll train the right person. We're looking for someone who is: Dependable and willing to work Comfortable working in a blue-collar environment Willing to work with their hands and lead by example Comfortable working outside in different weather conditions Able to follow directions and complete tasks efficiently A team player with a good attitude Willing to travel for emergency and scheduled projects Able to work in difficult or changing conditions Comfortable using smartphones, tablets, computers, and GPS Able to lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs. Able to stand and work for extended periods Able to safely operate a heavy-duty pickup truck with an enclosed trailer Able to navigate using GPS or a printed map Preferred Experience The following experience or training is a plus, but not required : Emergency services Firefighter experience Military experience Hazardous materials training Environmental cleanup Heavy equipment operation Powered hand tools such as Sawzalls, circular saws, and powered sweepers Other construction, maintenance, or blue-collar work If you don't have this experience, don't count yourself out. Available schedules may include:
10-19 hours per week 20-29 hours per week 30-39 hours per week Full-time opportunities may also be available Emergency response work may require flexibility depending on the needs of the job. Physical & Job Requirements This is an active job and requires you to work in a variety of conditions.
Candidates must be able to:
Lift and move up to 50 lbs. Stand for extended periods Work outdoors in bad weather Work around jobsite hazards while following safety procedures Wear required personal protective equipment Work as part of a team Follow instructions and safety procedures Travel to designated job locations Maintain reliable transportation to and from work locations A valid driver's license with a good driving record is required.
