The Hazardous Materials group is currently looking for an Environmental Technician to perform various inspections and fieldwork to support environmental and regulatory compliance activities. This position resides in our New Haven, CT or Hartford, CT location with regular travel to field sites within CT & bordering states. Key Responsibilities Conduct hazardous building materials inspections for commercial, private, municipal, and residential clients. Inspection activities include collection of air, wipe, and/or bulk samples for asbestos, lead, PCBs, radon, and other regulated materials/ chemicals. Prepare proper record keeping and field documentation. Develop hazardous building materials inspection reports; assist with design. Operate industrial hygiene equipment and perform Indoor Air Quality assessments and sampling. Perform construction management tasks to ensure conformity to project design. Attend site walk-through inspections and help develop proposals for hazardous building materials and environmental services. Attend construction meetings and perform field audits to support technical staff. Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Associate degree in Environmental Science, Safety Studies, or similar field 2+ years of previous fieldwork experience preferred Asbestos Project Monitor license required Asbestos Inspector license preferred OSHA 40-Hour
