What to Expect The Hazardous Waste Technician will have responsibility for the performance of tasks associated with the collection and safe/compliant handling of hazardous waste materials generated by our GFTX facility. The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator, self-driven and works well with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate must also take pride in their analytical abilities, operational mindset, organization skills and attention to detail. Perform collection and consolidation of hazardous waste containers generated by commissioning/manufacturing processes. Conduct 90-day Central Accumulation Area inspections and reporting. Respond to ad hoc requests for hazardous waste pick up. Provide emergency spill response and cleanup. Ensure all spills are properly logged in a timely manner
Perform decontamination and equipment cleaning. Perform breakdown and processing of waste streams such as filters and universal wastes
Ensure proper packaging of hazardous waste to maintain compliance. Ensure hazardous waste containers are properly labeled
Sort and segregate hazardous wastes as appropriate. Prepare loads for hazardous waste disposal
Conduct manifesting and pre-load preparation. Ensure hazardous waste containers are disposed of within the allotted time
Provide on-call coverage due to time off, training, weekend work, etc. Ensure compliance with all Tesla requirements for managing hazardous waste
Load or unload materials into containers or onto trucks utilizing material handling equipment. Continually identify and investigate opportunities for waste minimization and cost savings. Collaborate with third-party waste vendors providing site service What You'll Bring

3+ years of experience in high tech industry or similar manufacturing operations environment
HAZWOPER, DOT, RCRA
generator training
Valid driver's license required and able to operate assigned fleet
Ability to operate mobile equipment such as forklifts, tuggers and carts
Ability to lift and carry items exceeding 20 pounds and includes regular stair climbing to reach elevated work platforms
Proficient in Outlook, Word, and Excel Compensation and Benefits
