Job Description
Hazardous Waste Technician Second Shift - 1:30PM-10:00PM Triumvirate Environmental, one of the largest environmental services firms in North America, is seeking a Hazardous Waste Technician. This onsite role is based in Taylor, TX, reporting directly to the Hazardous Waste Operations Supervisor. The position requires flexible availability throughout the week and weekends.
Responsibilities:
Comply with prescribed safety procedures and regulations, including proper use and care of PPE. Must be able to wear a Respirator / SCBA. Load materials into tankers following the prescribed Triumvirate SOPs. Set up job site functions prior to transfer operations, including truck berms and secondary containment. Connect and disconnect transfer compatible hoses to tankers, inspecting connections, fittings, and gaskets before use. Operate diaphragm pumps and other transfer equipment to load and offload tankers with hazardous and non-hazardous waste. Verify material and tanker compatibility before loading, and continuously monitor transfers, stopping work immediately if unsafe conditions occur. Maintain good housekeeping and represent the company professionally to customers, suppliers, regulators, and the public. Carry out daily job tasks assigned by Lead and other duties as needed.Basic Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent. Excellent written and verbal communication, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills. Must be able to complete and maintainOSHA HAZWOPER
40-hour training and Confined Space Entry & Rescue certification. Current driver's license with clean driving record; must have a reliable form of transportation. Must be eligible to work in the United States without future sponsorship. Must consent to Motor Vehicle Record screening, criminal background check, pre-employment physical, and drug screen (inclusive of THC), and participate in random drug screening thereafter. Must be able to lift 60 pounds regularly, work overtime, and work flexible hours within the work week. This role frequently involves handling hazardous chemicals and waste and is considered safety-sensitive.Preferred Requirements:
Basic knowledge of chemicals and their interactions and danger signs. Knowledge of machines and tools, including their uses, repair, and maintenance. Ability to recognize when something is wrong or likely to go wrong and to concentrate on a task without distraction.Working Conditions:
Manufacturing environment dealing with hazardous chemicals. Use, care, and maintenance of PPE is mandatory for all employees.
