Job Description

Clean Harbors is seeking a HAZMAT General Laborer to support Environmental Services field and facility operations. In this role, you will handle, package, and load hazardous and non-hazardous waste, assist with site cleanup and decontamination, and operate basic material handling equipment while adhering to strict safety and environmental regulations. Working within a safety-first, team-oriented culture, you'll support emergency response, industrial cleaning, and waste management projects that protect communities and the environment, with opportunities for ongoing training and career growth. Responsibilities Handle, package, and label hazardous and non-hazardous materials in accordance with OSHA/EPA and company standards Assist with site cleanup, decontamination, and waste removal at customer locations and Clean Harbors facilities Operate basic material handling equipment and tools safely, following a safety-first culture Set up and break down work areas, including containment, ventilation, and decon stations Complete required logs, manifests, and basic documentation accurately and on time Inspect PPE, tools, and equipment; report and escalate safety concerns immediately Work collaboratively with Environmental Services team members and follow supervisor instructions Required Skills Hazardous material handling Decontamination procedures Waste segregation and labeling Forklift and material handling equipment operation Use of PPE and respirators Spill containment and cleanup Confined space awareness Basic equipment inspection and maintenance OSHA and EPA regulation awareness Documentation and chain-of-custody records
