In this role, you will be responsible for operating equipment to reheat previously quenched metal components, then quenching them in brine, water, oil, or molten lead. No Degree RequiredResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities Furnace & Quench Operation:
Control furnaces to reheat and quench metal parts according to specifications.Instrumentation Monitoring:
Accurately read gauges, sight glasses, and control instrumentation to monitor processing conditions.Quality & Testing:
Conduct quality control tests using Brinell Testers, Rockwell Testers, and metal lab equipment (polishing and metallograph).Material Handling:
Safely load/unload parts using heavy conveyors.Documentation:
Fill out production logs and quality report documents accurately.Qualifications & Requirements Experience:
Prior experience in heat treating, metallurgy, or heavy manufacturing is preferred; on-the-job training is provided as needed.Physical & Equipment Ability:
Must have the physical strength and agility to lift parts, build loads, and operate production equipment.Technical Skills:
Ability to read basic gauges, perform quality testing, and handle material handling machinery (crane/forklift). Working Conditions Candidates must be comfortable working in a standard heat-treat industrial environment, which includes exposure to heat, odors, dust, soot, and elevated noise levels. Safety gear and protocols are strictly enforced.
