Job Description

The Robotic Welder Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of robotic welding equipment to produce welded assemblies that meet customer, engineering, and company quality requirements. This position supports the organization's
ISO 9001
Quality Management System (QMS) by following established procedures, work instructions, inspection requirements, and continuous improvement initiatives. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Production Operations Operate Miller Copilot robotic welding equipment in accordance with approved work instructions and safety guidelines. Load and unload parts and materials into robotic welding fixtures and workstations. Set up components, jigs, and fixtures to ensure proper alignment and weld quality. Monitor welding operations and make approved adjustments as required to maintain product quality and process efficiency. Grind, clean, and finish welded assemblies to meet product specifications. Support fabrication, assembly, and other production activities as directed. Quality Responsibilities Inspect completed weldments and components to verify conformance with drawings, specifications, and quality standards. Utilize measuring and inspection equipment to verify dimensions and weld quality. Identify, document, and report nonconforming products, defects, and process issues according to company procedures. Follow all quality control plans, inspection requirements, and documented work instructions. Maintain accurate production and quality records as required by the Quality Management System. Participate in corrective action and continuous improvement activities to improve product quality and manufacturing efficiency. Support internal and external audits as required. Equipment Maintenance and Housekeeping Replace welding wire, tips, nozzles, and other welding consumables as needed. Perform routine operator-level maintenance and basic troubleshooting of robotic welding equipment. Report equipment malfunctions, quality concerns, and maintenance needs to supervision promptly. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company standards and 5S practices. Safety and Compliance Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements. Comply with
ISO 9001
Quality Management System requirements and applicable customer specifications. Participate in required training programs and maintain competency for assigned processes. Contribute to a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, work instructions, and production specifications. Ability to use basic measuring and inspection tools. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Ability to work safely and effectively in a manufacturing environment. Reliable attendance and dependable work ethic. Preferred Qualifications Experience with MIG welding. Basic TIG welding skills. Previous experience operating robotic welding equipment. Knowledge of welding processes, weld inspection methods, and manufacturing quality standards. Experience working within an ISO 9001-certified manufacturing environment. Experience with continuous improvement initiatives, such as 5S or Lean Manufacturing. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive motions throughout the work shift. Ability to lift and move materials in accordance with company safety guidelines. Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to welding fumes, noise, heat, and moving machinery while utilizing required PPE.
