Los Angeles, CA Job Details Part-time | Contract $18.50 - $22.00 an hour 13 hours ago Benefits Flexible schedule Qualifications Attention to detail Full Job Description We are a fine jewelry studio in downtown Los Angeles turning glass into wearable art. We are looking for a part-time Studio Assistant to work with glass, stone, and enamel alongside our team at our DTLA studio, 1 to 2 days per week. This is a hands-on assistant role and we will train you. If you like making things by hand, we can teach you the rest. Please note this is a physical studio job, not a computer or digital design role.

Responsibilities:

Prepare raw materials, including cleaning and processing glass and glass bottles Cut, sand, and finish glass and stone pieces for jewelry production Apply enamel coloring and assist with specialized glass coloring techniques Run our waterjet machine and prepare simple cut files in Adobe Illustrator (we will show you exactly what you need; no design experience required) Support lampworking and flameworking prep for production Manage material inventory so glass, stone, and enamel supplies stay stocked Maintain and care for tools and equipment Keep the workspace clean, safe, and organized, following all safety protocols We will train you. You do not need a background in glass. If you have worked with your hands in a studio or craft setting, you will pick this up quickly.

Ideal Candidate:

A genuine love for creating by hand and an interest in jewelry Patience and strong attention to detail (much of this work is small, careful, and repetitive) A positive attitude and clear communication Comfort working with shop machinery and hand tools after training Openness to learning - we provide full training in stone crafting, enameling, and material preparation Nice to have, not required: Lampworking, flameworking, glassblowing, or torch work experience (strong plus, compensated at a higher rate) Lapidary, stone cutting, or enamel/enameling experience Jewelry bench work or metalsmithing Hands-on studio background in ceramics, sculpture, metals, glass, or woodworking About the work: Every piece we make starts as a discarded bottle. Our jewelry is upcycled, and made entirely in-house by a small team. (
