Our locally owned, veteran-owned jewelry store encompasses approximately 8,000 square feet and operates an in-house repair department generating more than $1 million annually . Our shop has eight jeweler benches, and we are actively building the team that will fill them. This is an opportunity for an experienced craftsperson who wants to perform advanced bench work while serving as a technical leader, mentor, and teacher. The successful candidate will help lead our bench jewelers, establish exceptional craftsmanship standards, and train the next generation of professional jewelers through our apprenticeship program. Primary Responsibilities Complete advanced jewelry repairs, restorations, alterations, and custom fabrication Perform complex stone setting, including prong, bezel, channel, pavé, bead, flush, and specialty setting Work confidently with gold, platinum, silver, natural diamonds, laboratory-grown diamonds, and colored gemstones Diagnose difficult repair issues and determine the safest and most appropriate repair method Maintain consistently exceptional workmanship, finishing, symmetry, and attention to detail Conduct final quality-control inspections on completed work Provide technical leadership and guidance to our growing bench team Train and mentor apprentices and developing jewelers Help establish efficient, repeatable shop procedures and quality standards Work collaboratively with our Repair Manager, designers, sales professionals, and customer-service team Properly use and maintain shop equipment, tools, lasers, and production systems Help create a positive shop culture centered on craftsmanship, accountability, education, and teamwork Required Qualifications Minimum of 10 years of professional bench-jeweler experience Demonstrated master-level ability in jewelry repair, stone setting, restoration, fabrication, and finishing Experience working with platinum and high-value jewelry Ability to independently complete difficult and technically demanding jobs Strong quality-control and problem-solving abilities Experience training, mentoring, or supervising other jewelers Excellent organization and communication skills Ability to work effectively in a busy, high-volume repair environment Professional references and examples of previous work Successful completion of an in-person bench test Experience with laser welding, engraving, casting, custom manufacturing, CAD collaboration, or shop leadership is strongly preferred. Compensation The annual base salary for this position is $70,000-$75,000 , depending on demonstrated skill, experience, leadership ability, and bench-test results.
