Bench Jeweler Farmington Jewelers Farmington, CT Job Details Part-time | Full-time $26 - $40 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Maintenance Attention to detail Power tools Hand tools Polishing Full Job Description Bench Jeweler We are seeking a skilled and dependable Bench Jeweler to join our jewelry store team. We are a small team with great customer base and friendly, and flexible atmosphere. The ideal candidate takes pride in quality craftsmanship, attention to detail, and delivering exceptional work while maintaining a professional and organized bench. Key Responsibilities Perform daily jewelry repairs, including: Ring sizing, Prong rebuilding and re-tipping, Soldering, Chain and clasp repair, Stone replacement and repair Perform ring and jewelry maintenance, including polishing, finishing, and rhodium plating . Repair and rebuild channel, bezel, pavé, and prong settings . Set diamonds and gemstones of various shapes and sizes in: Prong settings, Bezel settings, Flush settings, Pavé settings Operate a laser welder (training can be provided for the right candidate) Perform engraving, including hand engraving and laser engraving. Inspect completed work for quality, security, finish, and craftsmanship. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workbench. Handle customer jewelry with care and professionalism. Assist with custom jewelry and special-order projects as needed. Preferred Qualifications & Skills Experience with watch bracelet sizing, repair, and battery replacement . Formal jewelry training or certification, such as GIA or New Approach School highly desirable. Experience with wax carving . Experience working under a bench microscope for precision repairs and stone setting. CAD/CAM knowledge and ability to support custom jewelry design. Experience using flexible shafts, grinding wheels, files, drills, and other bench tools. Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality craftsmanship. Ability to work independently while collaborating with the sales and store team. Reliable, organized, and professional work habits.
