Jewelry & Estate Buyer- Gainesville International Diamond Center - 3.2 Gainesville, FL Job Details Part-time $22 - $26 an hour 12 hours ago Qualifications Vendor relationship building Practicing in a sourcing or procurement role Customer communication Retail buying Negotiating purchasing contracts Full Job Description Jewelry and Estate Buyer Job Summary The Jewelry and Estate Buyer will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing high-quality jewelry and estate pieces for resale. This role involves evaluating the value and authenticity of jewelry items, negotiating purchase terms, and building strong relationships with sellers. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a deep understanding of jewelry appraisal, and excellent negotiation skills. Jewelry and Estate Buyer Responsibilities Evaluate Jewelry and Estate Items Assess the quality, value, and authenticity of jewelry and estate pieces. Use gemological tools and knowledge to identify gemstones and metals. Determine market value and resale potential. Purchasing and Negotiation Source jewelry and estate pieces from auctions, private sellers, and estate sales. Negotiate purchase prices and terms to ensure favorable deals for the company. Ensure all purchases comply with company policies and ethical standards. Market Research Stay updated on current market trends and pricing for jewelry and estate items. Monitor competitor activities and pricing strategies. Identify potential new sources for highquality jewelry and estate pieces. Inventory Management Maintain accurate records of purchases and inventory. Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to ensure a wellrounded product selection. Manage the inventory lifecycle, including purchasing, pricing, and turnover. Customer Relations Build and maintain relationships with sellers, auction houses, and other industry contacts. Provide exceptional customer service to clients looking to sell jewelry and estate items. Appraisal and Documentation Conduct detailed appraisals and create documentation for purchased items. Ensure all items are accurately described and documented for resale purposes. Jewelry and Estate Buyer Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree in Gemology, Business, or a related field preferred. GIA certification or equivalent gemological training is highly desirable. Experience Minimum of 3 years of experience in jewelry buying, appraisal, or a related field. Proven track record of successful negotiations and purchases. Skills Strong knowledge of gemstones, metals, and jewelry craftsmanship. Excellent negotiation and communication skills. Proficient in using gemological tools and software. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Personal Attributes High ethical standards and integrity. Ability to work independently and make informed decisions. Strong analytical and problemsolving skills. Passion for jewelry and a keen eye for quality and detail. Working Conditions May spend extended periods sitting or standing before a computer screen. Occasionally, equipment may need to be lifted or moved. May encounter highstress situations.
