About Us Emerald City Jewelers is an independently owned fine jewelry store built on craftsmanship, design, and strong community relationships. Founded in 1990 as a custom design and repair studio, our business was built on a unique combination of bench expertise and sales experience, giving us a deep understanding of both jewelry artistry and the client experience. That foundation continues to guide how we serve our customers today. Located in Quincy's historic district, we offer custom design, expert repairs, and a curated selection of fine jewelry in a warm, relationship driven luxury environment. While our showroom has grown over time, our commitment remains focused on providing knowledgeable, personalized service that helps clients celebrate life's most meaningful moments. About the Role We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Bench Jeweler to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a talented jeweler who takes pride in quality craftsmanship and enjoys working on a wide variety of repairs, restorations, and custom jewelry projects. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and takes pride in producing high-quality work with consistency and precision. Key Responsibilities Perform a wide range of jewelry repairs, including ring sizing, prong rebuilding and re-tipping, soldering, chain repairs, and stone tightening Work confidently with gold, platinum, silver, and other precious metals Perform stone setting across a variety of styles, shapes, and stone types Utilize a laser welder for precision repair work Finish and polish jewelry to high-quality retail standards Replace heads, create or modify components, and complete repairs involving multiple pieces or heirloom jewelry Weigh, measure, and grade diamonds and/or gemstones when needed Manage workload efficiently while maintaining accuracy, consistency, and attention to detail Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following established shop procedures Assist customers on the sales floor when needed; customer-facing comfort is a plus, but not required Qualifications Minimum 3 years of professional bench jeweler experience Formal bench jeweler education or specialized training is preferred, such as New Approach, GIA, Stuller stone-setting courses, or comparable training Candidates without formal schooling will also be considered with a demonstrated high level of technical skill and mastery Strong proficiency in jewelry repair, fabrication, soldering, finishing, and stone setting Experience working with precious metals and a variety of gemstones Strong attention to detail, consistency, and time management Ability to work independently while maintaining high-quality standards CAD, casting, and advanced custom jewelry experience are a plus, but not required Compensation & Benefits $50,000-$75,000 annually, based on experience and skill level Final compensation will be determined based on bench test results Relocation assistance is available for the right candidate.
