This position represents the highest level of craftsmanship within their jewelry repair and production team and the ideal candidate is a seasoned artisan with exceptional technical expertise and a passion for quality workmanship. This role handles the most complex repairs and custom work, serves as a technical authority, and often leads and mentors other goldsmiths. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: Performs highly complex and high-value jewelry repairs Executes prong, bezel, and bead setting on all sizes and shapes of diamonds Performs all types of re-tipping and re-pronging assignments in karat gold, sterling silver, and platinum Sizes all types of gold, sterling silver, and platinum jewelry Train, mentor, and evaluate Goldsmith I and II team members Establish and maintain best practices for craftsmanship and quality Follows chemical and equipment safety procedures: MSDS, lockout/tagout, etc. Safely and confidently operate torches, flex-shaft tools, polishing machines, and stone-setting tools Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, safe workshop environment Prioritize jobs according to due dates Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) High school diploma or equivalent required 5-7 years of hands-on bench jeweler experience Mastery in basic goldsmithing fundamentals (soldering, filing, sawing, measuring, and finishing) Bench tested ability to work with all common precious metals and diamonds Understanding of metal properties Experience with a laser welder and torch control Ability to communicate with clients and coworkers in a courteous and professional manner. Manual dexterity and attention to detail Ability to follow detailed instructions Willingness to learn and accept feedback Basic mechanical aptitude
