$145,000 to $160,000 base salary, plus up to 20% target annual bonus About Jean Dousset Jean Dousset is a rapidly growing luxury jewelry brand known for exceptional design, craftsmanship, innovation, and personalized client service. We currently operate retail locations and sales teams across New York, Los Angeles, and Santa Clara, with planned expansion into Boston, Washington, D.C., Dallas, Miami, Chicago, and additional markets. We expect to grow to approximately 10 to 15 locations over the next one to two years. We are seeking a hands-on, entrepreneurial Head of Retail Sales & Operations to lead the performance and day-to-day execution of our expanding retail organization. The Role The Head of Retail Sales & Operations will ensure that every Jean Dousset location achieves its revenue goals, operates effectively, and consistently reflects the standards of a luxury jewelry brand. This leader will oversee store and sales management, staffing, inventory controls, systems, security, and location-level operations. The role requires someone who can think strategically while remaining closely involved in execution. The ideal candidate has experience managing a portfolio of approximately 10 to 15 jewelry stores and is ready to take on broader responsibility within a fast-growing company. Key ResponsibilitiesSales Performance Own overall retail sales performance and ensure each location works toward its revenue, conversion, and productivity targets. Translate company goals into location-level targets, staffing plans, operating priorities, and clear management accountability. Monitor performance by location, manager, sales professional, channel, and stage of the customer funnel. Identify underperformance early and develop corrective action plans with store and sales leadership. Establish a consistent cadence for reviewing revenue, appointments, conversion, follow-up activity, staffing, inventory availability, and other key performance indicators. Partner closely with the company's sales leadership, which retains primary responsibility for sales training, coaching, and selling methodology. Retail Operations Oversee the day-to-day management and operational performance of all Jean Dousset locations. Ensure each location meets company standards for cleanliness, hygiene, presentation, organization, maintenance, safety, and security. Develop scalable operating procedures, checklists, audits, and reporting processes that can be implemented consistently across the retail portfolio. Conduct regular store visits and operating reviews, with additional attention given to new or underperforming locations. Manage location-level operating budgets and identify opportunities to improve productivity and control expenses. Support new store openings as needed, particularly with staffing, operational readiness, inventory controls, systems, and post-opening stabilization. Executive leadership will retain overall ownership of real estate, construction, and store development. Team Leadership and Staffing Lead sales managers, store managers, digital sales, customer service, and store operations leadership. Ensure appropriate staffing and management coverage based on operating hours, appointment demand, seasonality, employee availability, and sales goals. Review and approve schedules while balancing client coverage, employee productivity, payroll efficiency, and applicable labor requirements. Inventory Control and Security Establish and enforce strong inventory controls across all retail locations. Maintain accurate receiving, transfer, storage, custody, reconciliation, cycle-counting, and return procedures. Minimize shrinkage, loss, damage, and unauthorized movement of high-value inventory. Investigate discrepancies promptly and ensure corrective actions are implemented. Partner with finance, inventory, security, and store leadership to conduct regular audits and reconcile physical inventory with company records. Ensure compliance with opening and closing procedures, safe access, product handling, alarm systems, employee access, and incident reporting requirements. Client Experience Ensure every location consistently executes the luxury service standards established by the company's sales and client experience leaders. Support the leaders responsible for appointment quality, follow-up discipline, CRM hygiene, conversion, clienteling, reviews, service recovery, and consistency of the Jean Dousset experience. Provide the staffing, processes, reporting, and management accountability needed to execute these standards across every location. Systems and Reporting Ensure disciplined use of Shopify, Shopify POS, HubSpot CRM, Calendly, the company's internal inventory management system, and store security systems. Improve data accuracy, reporting consistency, system adoption, and operational visibility across the retail organization. Create practical reporting that gives leadership a clear view of sales, appointments, conversion, staffing, payroll, inventory, shrinkage, expenses, and store performance. Identify and recommend additional retail systems needed as the company grows. Lead the implementation and adoption of approved systems and processes across all locations. Qualifications Multistore retail leadership experience within fine jewelry or luxury jewelry. Experience managing approximately 10 to 15 retail locations, ideally for a respected jewelry organization. Demonstrated success managing both retail sales performance and store operations. Strong understanding of the complete customer funnel, including inquiries, appointments, showroom visits, conversion, follow-up, clienteling, repeat business, and referrals. Experience leading store managers, sales managers, and geographically distributed teams. Knowledge of high-value inventory controls, loss prevention, physical security, audits, and shrinkage reduction. Experience managing staffing, schedules, payroll efficiency, operating budgets, and location-level expenses. Comfort with POS systems, CRM platforms, appointment scheduling, inventory systems, and performance reporting. An analytical approach and the ability to turn performance data into practical action. Ability to travel approximately 30% to 40% of the time, or as business needs require. Based in the New York metropolitan area. The Right Candidate You are entrepreneurial, resourceful, and comfortable joining a growing company where some processes are still being built. You are a hands-on operator who visits stores, identifies issues, establishes accountability, and follows through until problems are resolved. You combine commercial instincts with operational discipline and understand how staffing, inventory, systems, client experience, and execution affect revenue. You collaborate effectively with strong functional leaders while remaining accountable for the performance of the overall retail organization. Most importantly, you bring urgency, ownership, sound judgment, and a genuine desire to help build a leading luxury jewelry retail business. Compensation The anticipated base salary range is $145,000 to $160,000, based on experience and qualifications. The position is also eligible for a target annual performance bonus up to 20% of base salary. Bonus performance will be measured against retail revenue, store profitability, inventory control, operational execution, and organizational development.Pay:
