Job Description
Comserve — Murfreesboro, TN Comserve is looking for a steel fabrication salesperson who already knows this industry cold. You know what a shop can and can't do, you can read a set of shop drawings without a translator, and you have a phone full of GCs, fabricators, and plant managers who take your call. This is a commission-only seat. That's not a warning — it's the pitch. There's no cap, no territory carve-outs from corporate, and no one skimming your accounts. What you build, you own. If you're a closer who's tired of a base salary being used as an excuse to cap your upside, this is the right desk. What you'll do Quote and estimate. Handle inbound RFQs, take off drawings, and turn them into accurate, competitive quotes. Read the prints. Work directly from blueprints and shop drawings to scope material, labor, and fabrication requirements. Hunt. Cold call and prospect general contractors, OEMs, industrial plants, and construction firms across Middle Tennessee and beyond. Run the handoff. Coordinate with the fabrication shop on scheduling, lead times, and delivery so what you promise is what gets built. Own the relationship. Follow jobs from first call through fabrication and delivery, then go get the next one. What you need 5+ years of sales experience in steel, metals, or fabrication. This is a hard requirement — we're not training the industry from scratch. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings. Working knowledge of fabrication processes, materials, and realistic shop capacity. Proven track record of self-generated business — you've built a book before. Strong quoting and estimating instincts; comfortable with numbers and margin. Valid driver's license and willingness to visit customers and jobsites. What you get Uncapped commission. Your income tracks your production, period. No cap, no ceiling, no territory limits. A real fabrication shop behind you that can actually deliver the work you sell. Direct access to ownership — decisions get made same day, not next quarter. Freedom to run your book the way you know works. Who this is NOT for If you need a guaranteed paycheck while you "ramp up," or you're looking for warm leads handed to you, this isn't the seat. If you know how to find work and close it, apply.
