The ideal candidate will have three years of diamond and gemstone setting experience in the fine jewelry industry, including applied experience using microscopes and laser welders. Milliard is especially interested in candidates who embody our core values: entrepreneurial spirit, individual accountability, positive attitude, and dedication to creating customers for life. Responsibilities
- Set a variety of diamonds and gemstones using prong, bezel, pave, channel, and other setting techniques appropriate to each design.
- Prepare mountings by filing, polishing, and cutting seats to properly fit each stone.
- Work across precious metals, including platinum, gold, and silver.
- Inspect stones and settings for quality, flaws, and secure fit before and after setting.
- Operate precision tools, including microscopes, gravers, laser welders, and engravers.
- Collaborate with jewelers, designers, and CAD team to execute all pieces with consistent quality.
- Execute a variety of welding techniques utilizing both torch soldering and laser welding.
- Utilize hand fabrication techniques in drawing wire, building clasps, and replacement components. Qualifications
- Three years of qualified experience setting diamonds and gemstones in fine jewelry
- Applied experience using microscopes and laser welders
- Technical training or vocational jewelry program preferred but not required
- Prior experience with Piro ERP system preferred
