Every piece we acquire is evaluated and restored to our exacting standards before it reaches the showroom floor. We are seeking an experienced Bench Jeweler to join our workshop: a skilled artisan who takes pride in their work and understands the responsibility that comes with handling extraordinary, one-of-a-kind pieces.RESPONSIBILITIES
Repair and restore estate, antique, heirloom, and designer jewelry with sensitivity to period construction techniques and original design intent Execute laser and solder repairs, prong rebuilding and retipping, stone setting, component fabrication, and custom redesign support Polish and finish pieces to a luxury standard across matte, satin, and high-polish finishes appropriate to the metal, period, and client expectations Handle diamonds, colored stones, pearls, and organic materials with care throughout every stage of bench work Perform thorough quality control on all outgoing work, including structural integrity, stone security, and finish review Communicate proactively with management and the sales team regarding repair scope, timelines, and any complications or barriers as they arise Perform other duties as requiredQUALIFICATIONS
Required How many years? Bench experience in high-end or fine jewelry repair and restoration Proficiency in laser welding and/or traditional soldering across platinum, gold, and silver Strong stone setting skills across multiple techniques (prong, bezel, pavé, channel, flush/gypsy, bead) Knowledge of complex jewelry construction; ability to work under microscopic magnification Exceptional attention to detail and personal commitment to quality Professional discretion when working with high-value client property Clear, proactive communication skills; ability to interact professionally with clients and team Excellent attendance with the ability to work overtime to support business needs, as required Ability to read, write and speak English fluently Must be able to use hands and fingers to perform repetitive motions, including grasping and holding Must have excellent finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination Must have the ability to measure and assemble items at close visual range, including the ability to distinguish colors Preferred Experience with estate, antique, or period jewelry construction Experience with signed or designer jewelry (Cartier, Tiffany, Van Cleef, Bulgari, etc.) Hand-fabrication skills from raw sheet, wire, and stock Experience supporting custom design projects from concept through completion Familiarity with CAD-produced castings and refining them to a hand-crafted standard Any other programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook?) GIA Graduate Gemologist (GG), Jewelry Arts (GJA), or Graduate Jeweler (GJ) credential, or equivalent formal trainingWHAT WE OFFER
