Job Description
Bench Jeweler - Full Time After Midnight Jewelers South Burlington, VT Full-Time After Midnight Jewelers is looking for an experienced full-time Bench Jeweler to join our team in South Burlington, Vermont. We are a locally owned, established fine jewelry store specializing in bridal, custom jewelry, jewelry repair, and restoration. We are looking for a skilled jeweler who can confidently handle day-to-day repair work while maintaining the high level of craftsmanship our customers expect. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced bench jeweler looking for a long-term position with an independent jewelry store where your craftsmanship, experience, and judgment are valued. Responsibilities Ring sizing and shank repair/replacement Prong rebuilding and retipping Stone tightening, setting, and replacement Chain, clasp, bracelet, and general jewelry repairs Soldering and laser welding Polishing, refinishing, rhodium plating, and restoration Repairing worn or damaged fine jewelry Inspecting jewelry and identifying necessary or preventative repairs Working with gold, platinum, silver, diamonds, and colored gemstones Assisting with custom jewelry projects and modifications Maintaining quality control on completed repairs Maintaining a clean, organized, and professional bench area Communicating with the sales team regarding repair recommendations, concerns, and special instructions Qualifications Professional bench jewelry experience is required.
The ideal candidate will:
Have strong jewelry repair and bench skills Be comfortable working independently on customers' fine jewelry Produce clean, consistent, high-quality work Understand proper handling and protection of diamonds and colored gemstones Be able to evaluate jewelry and determine appropriate repair methods Have excellent attention to detail Be dependable, organized, and efficient Take pride in their craftsmanship Work well independently and as part of a small team Experience with laser welding, stone setting, fabrication, restoration, and custom jewelry work is highly preferred.
