Job Description

JACKSON HOLE JEWELRY CO.
Goldsmith / Master Jeweler Jackson Hole Jewelry Co. is seeking an experienced Goldsmith with 7+ years of bench experience to join our team. We are looking for a highly skilled, independent jeweler who is confident with both traditional bench work and modern technology, and who is equally comfortable representing the house directly to our clients. Responsibilities Execute sizing, chain and clasp restoration, prong re-tipping, bezel and shank work, and head replacement to a standard that withstands close inspection. Set stones across every discipline — prong, bezel, channel, pavé, and micro-pavé — on client heirlooms and house inventory alike. Undertake hand fabrication, casting, polishing, and finishing as each project requires, using both traditional bench methods and modern equipment, including laser welding. Meet with clients to discuss repairs, alterations, and custom work, and prepare clear estimates and timelines. Manage your own workload and job tracking, and honor every completion date promised to a client. Maintain precise documentation and secure handling of client property from intake through completion. Key Qualifications 7+ years of professional bench experience. Proficient in torch and laser welding. Skilled in ring sizing, chain repair, fabrication, and fine jewelry restoration. Strong hand-tool and precision bench skills, with an excellent eye for detail and quality craftsmanship. Comfortable working directly with clients and discussing repairs, alterations, and custom work. Organized, with strong administrative and job-tracking skills. Able to manage projects independently and meet promised completion dates. The Candidate Jewelers of America bench certification (CBJ, CBJT, or CMBJ), or equivalent mastery demonstrated through portfolio and evaluation. We weigh the work above the years. Comprehensive knowledge of precious metals and gemstones, and of how each behaves — able to anticipate what a repair will ask of a stone or a setting before the first tool touches it. At ease with a discerning clientele: composed, articulate, and able to explain a technical constraint without condescension. Prepared to grow into the design conversation if not already conducting it. We invest in exceptional hands. A true collaborator. This position touches every other role in the house, and the model succeeds only when the exchange between them is seamless. Available to work weekends and holidays through the season. Compensation & Benefits Salary from $100,000, commensurate with experience and demonstrated command of the bench, plus the opportunity for a performance-based bonus. Wyoming levies no state income tax — a meaningful difference in realized compensation against comparable positions in other luxury markets. Relocation assistance available. Four weeks of paid time off. 401(k) with company matching. Educational allowance in support of continued mastery: bench certification, GIA coursework, and trade education.
