We run a fleet of fully equipped service trucks and specialize in automotive key and remote programming, vehicle lockouts, and lost key service. This is a AAA Roadside Assistance position. We are hiring an apprentice to serve Pinellas County. No locksmith experience required. If you're mechanically inclined, comfortable with technology, and want a real trade instead of another job, we will train you from the ground up.

Apprentice. Starting pay $684/week, paid from day one including during training. You ride and train with an experienced technician, then run your own truck handling AAA roadside assistance calls and vehicle lockouts. Having your own truck does not change your tier. You remain an Apprentice at $684/week until promoted. Technician. Earned by promotion. Cutting and programming transponder keys, remotes, and smart keys. Handles lost key jobs with support from senior staff as needed. Pay increases with promotion. Automotive Locksmith. Earned by promotion. Handles the majority of lost key jobs on their own, uses all tools and equipment independently, and rarely needs help. Top tier of the trade. Everyone starts as an Apprentice at $684/week. You advance as your skills are proven.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Ride and train with an experienced technician until you're ready to run your own truck Respond to AAA roadside assistance calls and vehicle lockouts across Pinellas, Manatee, and Sarasota Counties Learn to cut and program transponder keys, remotes, and push to start smart keys Learn lost key service on modern vehicles Verify vehicle ownership on every job. No exceptions. Keep your assigned truck stocked, clean, and organized Communicate professionally with customers, often when they're stressed or stranded

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Valid Florida driver's license with a clean driving record (you will be driving a company truck daily) Must be 21 years of age or older (insurance requirement) Reliable. You show up, on time, every scheduled day. Comfortable working outdoors in Florida heat and in all weather Basic hand tool competence and willingness to learn diagnostic software Good with a smartphone or tablet. A lot of this trade is software now. Able to pass a background check (required for locksmith licensing and vehicle security data access) Customer facing professionalism and a clean, presentable appearance

NICE TO HAVE

(not required) Automotive, mechanical, or 12 volt electrical experience Prior field service, delivery, roadside assistance, or towing background Any hands on trade experience
