Performs skilled journeyman-level work in the installation, maintenance, and repair of locks, security doors, and electronic locking systems for County-owned buildings. Responsible for servicing latches, door closures, exit devices, panic hardware, overhead port doors, and security gates; repairs mechanical and electrical locks; makes keys, and changes lock combinations using specialized tools and equipment. Work is performed under general supervision and is reviewed through on-site inspections and observations of work in progress.
QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires qualified applicants to possess the following: Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification; minimum of three (3) years of experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical and combination locking devices and the maintenance of master key systems or with commercial or institutional key, lock, and door egress devices.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred qualifications include: Locksmith diploma, Experience in solid-state electronics, Experience in electronic security door locks, and Experience using access systems.
