THE POSITION
The Corrections Locksmith position with the Department of Corrections offers a chance to support a secure and well-run facility. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position maintains the lock systems and related equipment that support a safe correctional environment. As a Corrections Locksmith, you will perform the following duties:
Lock System Work:
Install, maintain, and repair new and existing locks and related mechanisms while performing routine checks
Key Management:
Produce original and duplicate keys from blanks, track broken, damaged or missing keys, and adjust master and issued key sets
Inventory Control:
Determine tools and materials to complete work assignments, submit purchase requests, and maintain needed supplies
Inmate Oversight:
Direct inmates in non-security tasks and keep accurate training, attendance, and wage records
Security Measures:

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday
- Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
Telework:
You will not have the option to telework in this position.
Salary:
Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $49,010.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Two years of experience in the locksmith trade; or
An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirements:
Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
You must be able to perform essential job functions.
