This role is ideal for a machinist who can confidently operate established CNC machining processes, perform routine machine adjustments, and maintain quality standards while developing toward more advanced setup and programming responsibilities. What You'll Do As a CNC Machinist II, you will play a critical role in supporting production and ensuring the quality of machined die-cast components by: Operating CNC machining centers used for secondary machining operations Loading and unloading parts while monitoring machine performance and cycle completion Performing routine tool changes, insert replacements, and offset adjustments within established parameters Conducting in-process inspections using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measuring equipment Ensuring parts meet quality specifications and dimensional requirements Identifying tooling wear, machine alarms, or quality concerns and escalating issues appropriately Following setup sheets, work instructions, inspection plans, and established manufacturing procedures Partnering with Quality personnel to understand inspection results and address nonconforming conditions Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment in accordance with 5S standards Accurately documenting production counts, inspection results, and downtime activities Supporting continuous improvement initiatives through adherence to standard work practices and practical process suggestions What Makes You Successful A successful CNC Machinist II will: Confidently run established CNC jobs with minimal supervision Understand part orientation, datum structures, and basic GD&T concepts Make routine tooling and offset adjustments as needed Recognize process variation and know when to escalate concerns Utilize inspection data to maintain product quality and consistency Demonstrate strong attention to detail and commitment to safety Qualifications Required High School Diploma or GED 2-4 years of CNC machining or CNC operator experience Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably high-volume or die-cast production Ability to read and interpret blueprints and dimensional requirements Experience using precision measuring instruments, including: Calipers Micrometers Gauges Basic understanding of CNC tooling, inserts, offsets, and machining processes Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement Preferred Experience with 4-axis machining environments Exposure to setup verification and first-piece inspections Familiarity with manufacturing quality systems and inspection processes Growth & Development Opportunity This position is designed for machinists who are ready to expand their technical knowledge and advance their careers.
