Job Description

Chipton-Ross is seeking a CNC Machinist II for a contract opportunity in Buena Park, CA.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
(REQUIRED
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
): 2-4 years of CNC machining or CNC operator experience, preferably in a die cast or high-volume manufacturing environment Experience operating CNC machines (3-axis; exposure to 4-axis a plus) Ability to read basic blueprints and understand dimensional requirements Familiarity with common measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) Basic understanding of tooling, inserts, and machining processes Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Operate CNC machining centers used for secondary machining of die cast components Load and unload parts, start cycles, monitor machining operations, and ensure parts meet quality standards Perform basic setup tasks such as loading tools, changing inserts, and setting or verifying work offsets as directed Conduct in-process inspections using measuring tools to ensure parts remain within specification Identify obvious tooling wear, machine alarms, or part quality issues and escalate appropriately Follow established setup sheets, work instructions, and inspection plans Work with Quality personnel to understand inspection feedback and respond to nonconforming conditions Maintain clean, organized work areas and machines in accordance with 5S and safety standards Accurately document production counts, inspection results, and downtime Support continuous improvement by following standard work and suggesting practical improvements
