JOB SUMMARY
Parker Aerospace is looking for an experienced Senior Machinist with strong CNC Lathe setup and operating experience. The ideal candidate will be able to set up and operate CNC machines, read blueprints, use precision measuring tools, and produce quality parts with limited supervision. MAZAK machine control experience and Y-axis machining experience are highly preferred.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Set up and operate CNC lathes and other machining equipment. Read and follow blueprints, drawings, specifications, and work instructions. Install and adjust cutting tools. Adjust feeds, speeds, and cutting depths as needed. Machine, drill, ream, deburr, and rework precision parts. Inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, comparators, and other measuring tools. Perform SPC measurements and maintain accurate production records. Identify machine or tooling issues and make adjustments when needed. Maintain machines and keep the work area clean and safe. Follow all safety, quality, and company procedures. Support Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement activities. Work effectively with team members and with limited supervision.
REQUIREMENTS
3+ years of machining experience. Strong CNC Lathe setup and operating experience. Ability to set up machines independently. Ability to read and understand blueprints. Knowledge of basic machine shop mathematics; trigonometry is a plus. Experience using precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers. Ability to work with limited supervision. Good communication and teamwork skills. High School Diploma or equivalent.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
Mazak machine controls. Y-axis machining. Aerospace or precision manufacturing experience. SPC and Lean Manufacturing experience.
