This role offers an exciting opportunity to operate, program, and maintain advanced multi-axis CNC milling centers that produce high-precision components. You will be instrumental in turning complex designs into reality, ensuring top-tier quality, and optimizing machining processes. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment where your technical skills and mechanical expertise make a real impact, this position is perfect for you! We are committed to fostering a lively, supportive workplace that values innovation and craftsmanship. Responsibilities Set up and operate 5-axis CNC milling machines, specifically DMG DMU 60 and DMU 85 models, ensuring precise execution of complex parts. Develop and modify CNC programs using CAM software, integrating GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) principles for accurate manufacturing. Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD models created in SolidWorks or other CAD software to produce detailed parts. Conduct thorough inspections using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines to verify dimensions and tolerances. Perform routine machine maintenance, troubleshoot issues with Fanuc controls or other CNC systems, and ensure optimal machine performance. Utilize hand tools, power tools, tooling setups, and welding equipment as needed for assembly or minor repairs. Follow lean manufacturing principles to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance overall production quality. Requirements Proven experience operating 5-axis CNC milling machines like DMG DMU series or similar multi-axis machining centers. Strong background in CNC programming, with proficiency in CAM software and familiarity with Fanuc control systems. Solid understanding of GD&T standards, blueprint reading skills, and mechanical knowledge relevant to precision manufacturing. Experience with electrical discharge machining (EDM), plastics injection molding processes, or welding is a plus. Ability to use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines confidently. Basic math skills for calculating dimensions and tolerances; ability to interpret technical drawings accurately. Knowledge of manufacturing environments including CNC lathe operation, tooling setup, assembly work, and the use of power tools. Valid forklift certification is preferred; willingness to adhere to safety protocols including proper use of hand tools and tooling equipment. Strong problem-solving skills with an energetic approach to continuous improvement within a team-oriented setting. Embark on a rewarding career where your craftsmanship drives innovation! We're dedicated to supporting your growth with comprehensive training opportunities and a vibrant work environment that celebrates technical excellence. Set up and operate CNC turn-mill (mill-turn) machine Perform complete machine setups including: Workholding (chucks, collets, tailstock, steady rest) Live tooling setup Tool offsets and geometry adjustments Probe calibration (if applicable) Execute complex machining involving: Multi-axis interpolation Y-axis milling. C-axis positioning, Sub-spindle operations Interpret complex engineering drawings and GD&T Perform in-process inspections using micrometers, bore gauges, thread gauges, and CMM Maintain tight tolerances (±0.0005" or better) Edit CNC programs at the control (Fanuc / Mitsubishi / MAPPS / Siemens as applicable) Troubleshoot machining issues and optimize cycle times
