Shift Location:
El Monte, CA About the Company A leading name in aerospace and defense manufacturing, delivering mission-critical systems for launch vehicles and space programs. This company partners with 80+ prime contractors supporting 130+ active space and defense programs, and has nearly 50 years of industry experience. The Opportunity This CNC Machinist role supports production by operating complex 5-axis CNC equipment, preparing tooling and materials, and managing efficient machine setups. You'll work closely with programmers and management to prioritize jobs, minimize setup times, and deliver high-quality, conforming components for critical space and defense applications. What You'll Do Operate CNC machines to manufacture precision components Maintain and follow AS9100 procedures, supporting continuous improvement Collaborate with programmers to minimize setup and manufacturing time Order cutters and tooling needed for production Prioritize the machine schedule alongside management Perform general maintenance and cleaning of CNC machines and fixtures Flag quality or time-management concerns to leadership Evaluate potential impacts of product failures on customer requirements What You Bring High school diploma or equivalent combination of education/experience Solid CNC equipment operation experience Experience with Siemens 840D and Fanuc 31i-B5 controls Strong blueprint interpretation skills Deep understanding of machine setups, tooling, and cutters Detail-oriented with strong communication across all levels Familiarity with QMS reporting, record keeping, and process adherence Physical Requirements Standing/walking/sitting for 8+ hours Occasional lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs Repetitive movement and hand/arm dexterity for equipment operation Ability to see clearly at ~20 inches (corrective lenses okay) A bit about us:
