Full Job Description Duties:
The CNC operator is primarily responsible for machining of steel and aluminum parts. Each job must be run with safety, accuracy and timeliness in the CNC area. Create quality parts according to blueprints. Inspect parts for accuracy. Prepare product for CNC machining by grinding, sanding, cutting of steel/aluminum parts. Change CNC tooling and tool bits/drills as needed. Do machine set-ups, offsets and light programming as needed. Ensure all equipment is properly set-up and used in a safe manner and that all safety devices are used. Performs first piece inspections as well as subsequent inspections as required. Responsible for proper packaging, identifying and moving finished product to correct locations. Monitor equipment and request maintenance where required. Perform simple maintenance and repairs as required.
Other Job Duties:
Will be required to cross train as back-up in other areas. Required to have accurate time entry into the attendance system. Other job-related activities may be necessary to carry out the responsibilities of this position. This position requires attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of CNC machining processes and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
