We are seeking an experienced CNC Swiss Machinist to join our precision manufacturing team on the swing shift . This role is ideal for a skilled machinist who takes pride in producing high-quality, close-tolerance components and enjoys working independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment. You will have ownership of machine performance, product quality, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement while working with advanced CNC Swiss equipment and precision tooling.
Key Responsibilities:
Independently operate CNC Swiss-style lathes during the swing shift to maintain safe, efficient, and continuous production. Make in-process adjustments to tooling, offsets, feeds, and speeds to maintain dimensional accuracy and consistent part quality. Take ownership of product quality, including in-process inspection, documentation, and compliance with specifications and control plans . Troubleshoot and correct machine issues, including tool wear, machine alarms, surface-finish concerns, and dimensional variation. Work closely with fellow machinists and management to ensure effective shift handoffs, communicating machine status, job progress, open issues, and improvement opportunities. Follow engineering drawings, specifications, standard work, and setup documentation while applying sound machining judgment to improve process stability and cycle time. Perform routine machine checks and preventive actions to minimize downtime and maintain equipment readiness. Maintain accurate production, quality, inspection, and downtime records. Promptly escalate quality, safety, or equipment concerns to prevent defects and production interruptions. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe machine shop environment. Grind, sharpen, and recondition carbide and HSS cutting tools according to specifications.
Minimum Qualifications:
3+ years of relevant CNC machining experience and/or technical education. Hands-on experience with CNC Swiss/lathe machining . Experience with
FANUC CNC
controls . Experience machining small, high-precision turned components . Strong troubleshooting skills related to machining processes and quality issues. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications, including Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) . High school diploma or equivalent; college or technical coursework preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently, make sound machining decisions, and take ownership of quality.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with carbide tool grinding and/or resharpening . Experience with advanced metrology and precision inspection equipment . Pay Transparency:
The expected pay range for this position is $21.73-$28.97 per hour (W-2) , depending on qualifications and experience.
