In this role, you will operate, set up, and maintain CNC milling machines and lathes to produce high-quality metal parts. Your expertise in machining tools, blueprint reading, and precision measurement will drive our commitment to excellence. Duties Operate CNC milling machines and CNC lathes with precision to produce complex metal parts according to detailed blueprints and technical drawings. Set up machines by installing tooling, fixtures, and calibration devices, ensuring optimal performance for each job. Conduct quality control inspections utilizing calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and other precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and tolerances. Interpret mechanical blueprints and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications to ensure parts meet exact standards. Perform routine maintenance on machinery, troubleshoot issues promptly, and adjust setups as needed for continuous operation. Utilize manual machining tools such as grinders, hand tools, and power tools for secondary operations or fine-tuning when necessary. Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to lean manufacturing principles to maximize efficiency. Qualifications Proven experience operating CNC milling machines and lathes in a manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of CNC programming languages including G-code and M-code; experience with CAM software is highly desirable. Proficiency in reading mechanical blueprints and understanding GD&T specifications for precise machining. Familiarity with measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and other precision instruments for quality control. Mechanical aptitude with the ability to interpret mechanical blueprints and mechanical systems. Basic math skills for calculations related to measurements, tolerances, and machine adjustments. Knowledge of tooling selection, setup procedures, and machine calibration techniques for CNC machining operations. Ability to work safely with machining tools, grinders, hand tools, power tools, and tooling accessories. Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail to ensure high-quality output in a fast-paced environment. New World Machining was established in 1978 and is a growing, fast paced company.
